Clifford Contreras is an Artist born on the south side of Chicago Illinois. Clifford received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Western Illinois University in 1986.In 1995 Clifford began exhibiting his work on a regular basis..
A few of these Exhibits included the Lincoln Park Oz Art Festival, and the South Shore Cultural Centers Gallery. A few other places Clifford has exhibited include Chicago State University and Evanston Il. Ethnic Arts Festival.
In 2000-2001 Clifford received recognition as an Artist when he won a Best of Show Award as well as an Honorable Mention Award in the Dusable Museum Art Fair. Soon after that, he received National Exposure, Wining first Place in the U.S Postal Service National Calendar Competition, in which one of his pieces of art was published on the cover and a second piece on the January Page. During these same years Clifford achieved some success on the Gallery level with consignment sale at the AddieGallery located in Maui Hawaii.
More recently Clifford was interviewed along with Melvin King and other top Artists on the local television show Jenny’s Reflections, which aired on C.A.N TV. Recent Exhibits include the Renaissance Art Exhibit at Chicago State University and Two solo Exhibits at the U.S. Postal Services Chicago Main Facility. Other Exhibits include 2 exhibits in the RAW Show, one at The South Shore Cultural Center and one at Chicago State University,
This year Clifford has exhibited in the City Hall of Chicago and in The Richard Daley Civic Center. Also this Year Clifford has had numerous exhibits in the LUCID Gallery in Chicago’s West Loop area.
Now As an Artist, Clifford is constantly pushing the envelope of Mixed Media imagery, combining Traditional Oil Painting and Digital Photography, to successfully create a fusion of Surrealism and Dream like, Island themes!!
